Description
Verbena x Superbena Royale Plum Wine, marketed by Proven Winners, is a striking hybrid vervain renowned for its deep plum-purple flowers and vigorous, trailing growth habit. This cultivar stands out for its exceptional heat and drought tolerance, making it ideal for sunny landscapes, hanging baskets, and containers where long-lasting color is desired. The plant blooms prolifically from late spring through fall, attracting pollinators such as butterflies and hummingbirds, adding both ornamental and ecological value to gardens. Originating from interspecific crosses within the Verbena genus, Superbena varieties have been bred to overcome common issues such as disease susceptibility and weak growth seen in traditional verbenas, resulting in a more robust and low-maintenance plant. Known for its compact form and continuous flowering, Plum Wine is a versatile choice that combines the rich hues of plum with superior garden performance. Its reliable performance has contributed to the Superbena series receiving accolades within the horticultural industry for garden merit and innovation in bedding plants.
