Description
Syringa x Bloomerang ‘Ballet’ from Proven Winners is a unique, reblooming lilac cultivar that combines the classic fragrance and charm of traditional lilacs with extended flowering periods, making it a standout choice for gardeners seeking continuous spring to fall blooms. This deciduous shrub typically grows 5 to 7 feet tall and wide, featuring large panicles of fragrant, double, pinkish-lavender flowers that emerge in late spring and reappear sporadically through summer into early fall. Developed through careful breeding to extend the bloom season beyond that of common lilacs (Syringa vulgaris), ‘Ballet’ offers excellent deer resistance and thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. The Bloomerang series, including ‘Ballet,’ is celebrated for its compact habit, disease resistance, and ease of care, making it an excellent landscape shrub for foundation plantings, borders, or as a specimen. Its reblooming trait distinguishes it from traditional lilacs, which typically bloom only once per year. The Bloomerang series has garnered recognition within the gardening community for combining classic lilac beauty with modern garden performance.
