Description
Veronica spicata ‘Bubblegum Candles’, commonly known as Speedwell, is a striking perennial celebrated for its vibrant, bubblegum-pink flower spikes that bloom profusely from late spring through summer. This cultivar features dense, upright racemes of tubular flowers atop stiff, upright stems, creating a vivid vertical accent in garden borders or containers. Native to Europe and western Asia, Veronica spicata has a long history of cultivation for its ornamental charm and adaptability. ‘Bubblegum Candles’ is particularly valued for its compact habit, disease resistance, and tolerance to a range of soil conditions, thriving in full sun with excellent drought resistance once established. Its narrow, lance-shaped leaves provide a fine-textured contrast to the bold flower spikes. This cultivar not only attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies, enhancing garden biodiversity, but also offers season-long interest with minimal maintenance. Recognized for its outstanding garden performance and floriferous display, ‘Bubblegum Candles’ has earned accolades from horticultural societies, underscoring its appeal for both home gardeners and professional landscapers.
