Description
Calathea Majestica White Star, also known simply as Calathea White Star, is a striking tropical perennial prized for its bold, decorative foliage. Native to the rainforests of Brazil, this plant features large, lance-shaped leaves adorned with a distinctive pattern of crisp white or silvery stripes against a deep green background, creating a star-like effect that adds dramatic visual interest indoors. The undersides of the leaves often display a rich purple hue, enhancing its ornamental appeal. Calathea Majestica White Star thrives in low to medium indirect light and prefers high humidity and well-draining, consistently moist soil, making it a favored choice for indoor gardeners seeking a lush, tropical aesthetic. This species belongs to the Marantaceae family, known as prayer plants, named for their unique nyctinastic movement—leaves that fold upward at night. Its combination of striking foliage pattern and adaptability to indoor environments has made it popular among houseplant enthusiasts. While it is primarily grown for its foliage, the White Star cultivar stands out for its impressive leaf variegation and care-friendly nature, contributing to its recognition in ornamental plant circles.
