Description
Chrysanthemum x morifolium ‘Ursula Sunny Yellow’ is a vibrant, hardy garden mum renowned for its bright, sunny yellow blooms that bring a cheerful pop of color to fall landscapes. This cultivar belongs to a long-cultivated hybrid group of chrysanthemums that originated from East Asia and have been prized for centuries both as ornamental plants and in traditional uses. ‘Ursula Sunny Yellow’ features dense, daisy-like flowers with a compact and bushy growth habit, making it ideal for borders, mass plantings, or container gardening. The plant is prized for its cold tolerance, often thriving well into the cooler months when many other flowers have faded, effectively extending the garden’s seasonal interest. Its ease of care, resistance to common pests, and ability to bloom profusely under full sun conditions have made it a favorite among gardeners seeking reliable fall color. This cultivar aligns with the rich horticultural history of garden mums, which have been cultivated extensively since the early 20th century for their diverse flower forms and durability in temperate climates.
