Description
Dianthus ‘Beauties Kate’ Pinks are a charming and compact perennial cultivar prized for their profuse display of fragrant, bright pink blooms that emerge in late spring and often re-bloom throughout the summer. This variety belongs to the Dianthus genus, commonly known as carnations or pinks, which have a rich horticultural history dating back to ancient Greece, where they were valued for their clove-like scent and ornamental appeal. ‘Beauties Kate’ is notable for its mounding habit, typically reaching around 6 to 8 inches in height, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, borders, and container plantings. The finely cut, gray-green foliage adds an attractive texture contrast in the garden. This cultivar is valued for its heat tolerance and disease resistance compared to other dianthus varieties, enduring well in full sun and well-drained soils. Its continuous flowering habit and compact size have made it popular among gardeners looking for long-lasting color and low maintenance. Dianthus ‘Beauties Kate’ has been recognized for its garden performance, including commendations in perennial trials for its vigor and ornamental qualities.
