Description
Epimedium ‘Pretty in Pink’ is a charming perennial known for its delicate, heart-shaped leaves and graceful sprays of soft pink flowers that bloom in spring. Belonging to the Berberidaceae family, this hybrid variety combines the best traits of its Epimedium parents, offering exceptional shade tolerance and adaptability to a variety of soil conditions, making it a favorite for woodland gardens and shaded borders. Its unique, airy floral display contrasts beautifully with its evergreen-to-semi-evergreen foliage, which often takes on attractive bronze or reddish hues in cooler weather, adding year-round interest. Originating from a lineage of Asian epimedium species that have been cultivated for centuries for their ornamental and medicinal qualities, ‘Pretty in Pink’ has been selectively bred for improved flower color and vigor. This cultivar is celebrated for its low maintenance and deer resistance, providing an elegant groundcover option under trees and in shaded garden spots. Its performance and aesthetic appeal have earned it recognition among garden enthusiasts and professionals alike.
