Description
Hemerocallis ‘Blazing Returns’ is a vibrant daylily cultivar known for its striking, fiery orange blooms with a darker eye zone that creates a dramatic contrast, making it a standout in perennial gardens. This hybrid daylily combines vigorous growth and easy maintenance with exceptional heat and drought tolerance, traits typical of the Hemerocallis genus, which has been widely cultivated for centuries for its ornamental and hardy nature. ‘Blazing Returns’ produces abundant, trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom profusely throughout summer, thriving in full sun and well-drained soils. Its long-lasting blooms and reblooming habit extend visual interest well beyond typical daylily flowering periods, providing dynamic color in borders, mass plantings, or naturalized areas. The daylily’s history dates back to ancient China, where it was valued both for its beauty and edible qualities, and modern hybrids like ‘Blazing Returns’ continue to be developed for improved garden performance and aesthetic appeal. Recognized for its robust garden performance and vivid coloration, this cultivar has earned praise among horticulturists and landscape designers alike.
