Description
Mangifera indica ‘Carrie’ Mango is a distinguished cultivar of the mango tree, renowned for its exceptional flavor and rich history rooted in the Caribbean. Originating in Florida, the ‘Carrie’ mango is prized for its small to medium-sized fruit, which delivers a wonderfully sweet, fiberless flesh with a distinctive tropical aroma. The tree itself is moderately vigorous and compact, making it well-suited for home gardens and limited space landscapes in USDA zones 10-11. Its evergreen foliage consists of slender, lance-shaped leaves that contribute to the tree’s attractive ornamental appeal. Historically, the ‘Carrie’ mango gained popularity among mango enthusiasts for its superior eating quality and reliable production, establishing itself as a favored variety for fresh consumption rather than processing. This cultivar has been recognized within the mango breeding and gardening communities for its outstanding fruit quality and manageable growth habit, often recommended as a premier choice for subtropical growers seeking both aesthetic and culinary excellence.
