Description
Pelargonium ‘Interspecific Caliente Fire’ geranium is a vibrant hybrid known for its fiery red blooms and robust growth habit, making it a standout choice for both garden beds and container displays. This interspecific geranium results from crosses between traditional Pelargonium species, combining the heat tolerance and vigor of zonal geraniums with the striking floral intensity and fragrance typical of regal and scented-leaf types. ‘Caliente Fire’ is prized for its ability to perform well in full sun and its resistance to common geranium diseases, which enhances its appeal for low-maintenance gardening in warm climates. Historically, Pelargoniums originated in South Africa and have been cultivated globally since the 17th century, appreciated for their ornamental flowers and aromatic foliage. The Caliente series, including ‘Fire,’ has gained recognition in the horticultural industry for its durability and showy floral display, contributing to its popularity among landscape professionals and home gardeners alike.
