Description
Caryopteris incana ‘Beyond Pink’d’, marketed under the Proven Winners Bluebeard series, is a striking deciduous shrub valued for its unique combination of late-summer blooms and attractive foliage. Native to China and Korea, Caryopteris, commonly known as bluebeard, traditionally produces vibrant blue flowers, but the ‘Beyond Pink’d’ selection distinguishes itself with soft pink to lavender-pink blossoms that provide an unusual and charming twist on this popular genus. The plant features gray-green, aromatic leaves that add ornamental interest even when not in bloom, and its compact, rounded growth habit makes it an excellent choice for borders, mixed shrub beds, or pollinator-friendly gardens. Known for its drought tolerance and adaptability to well-drained soils in full sun, ‘Beyond Pink’d’ extends the flowering season into late summer and early fall, attracting bees and butterflies. As part of the Proven Winners collection, this cultivar has been recognized for its garden performance, disease resistance, and unique flower color that broadens the traditional blue palette of Caryopteris, offering gardeners a fresh and distinctive landscape option.
