Description
Hesperaloe parviflora ‘Coral Glow,’ commonly known as Texas Yucca, is a striking evergreen perennial native to the arid regions of Texas and northern Mexico. This drought-tolerant plant is prized for its architectural form, featuring slender, arching, narrow blue-green leaves that create a fountain-like mound, typically reaching 3 to 4 feet in height and width. In late spring through summer, it produces tall, graceful flower stalks adorned with coral-pink tubular blossoms that attract hummingbirds and pollinators, providing vibrant color contrast against its foliage. Unlike true yuccas, Hesperaloe belongs to the Agavaceae family and is celebrated for its adaptability to xeriscape gardens, thriving in full sun and well-drained soils with minimal water requirements. Its unique combination of ornamental foliage and showy flowers, coupled with its resilience to heat and drought, makes ‘Coral Glow’ a desirable choice for sustainable landscaping. The cultivar has been recognized for its outstanding garden performance and aesthetic appeal, solidifying its place as a popular selection among landscape professionals and garden enthusiasts alike.
