Description
Hydrangea arborescens ‘Bounty’ Smooth Hydrangea is a robust and versatile deciduous shrub prized for its large, pure white flower heads that often measure up to 12 inches across, creating a stunning summer display from early to late season. Originating from native North American species, this cultivar offers a more refined and floriferous form compared to wild types, with strong stems that support the abundant mophead blooms, reducing flopping even under rain or wind. Its broad, dark green foliage provides a lush backdrop for the creamy white clusters, which gradually age to a soft green, adding seasonal interest. ‘Bounty’ is valued for its adaptability across USDA zones 3 to 9, thriving in partial shade to full sun, and its tolerance to a variety of soil conditions makes it a reliable addition to perennial borders, foundation plantings, and naturalized landscapes. This cultivar has been recognized for its superior floriferousness and sturdy habit, distinguishing it within the Hydrangea arborescens group for both home gardeners and landscape professionals.
